Norse Wire Weaving
Norse Wire Weaving is also known as Trichinopoly or Viking Knit and functions primarily as an alternative to the more familiar chain of links. Examples have been found in archaeological sites in Scandinavia and also in the British Isles. The majority of these finds date from the ninth to the eleventh centuries. Examples have also been discovered in Roman, Greek, and Byzantine archaeological contexts leading some researchers to speculate that the technique may have originated in the orient. Most examples found have been part of hordes rather than in individual graves.
